Farm sensors & automation · all of Australia

Farm IoT monitoring: your whole property on one dashboard.

Gates, troughs, pumps, tanks, frost, every sensor that matters in one live view, with an alert on your phone the moment something's wrong. A LoRa mesh carries readings back from the paddocks with no mobile signal. We design it, install it and keep it running.

No driving around to check. No call centres, a real person who installs the gear and answers when something's not right.

You can't be everywhere at once

On a big place, the things that cost you happen out of sight, and you usually find out the hard way, a day or two too late.

! No eyes on the place

Stock, gates, sheds and pumps spread over kilometres you can't see from the house. If something's wrong out there, nothing tells you.

! Gates left open

A gate someone forgot, or a chain that's been cut, and stock are on the road or in the wrong paddock before anyone notices.

! Pumps fail unnoticed

A bore pump trips or loses prime and just stops. The tank behind it quietly drains and the trough runs dry days later.

! Sick of driving around

Hours and fuel every week doing the rounds, checking water and gates that could send you a number instead.

The place checks itself, and tells you when it can't.

06:10 · first light

The water's already counted

Before you've had a coffee, every trough and tank on the place has reported in. The north trough sat at 80% overnight, no need to drive out and look.

11:30 · midday rounds

The bore pump is holding pressure

The bore line is running at 320 kPa, right where it should be. If it had tripped or lost prime, you'd have known before the tank behind it started to drain.

17:45 · last light

Frost is coming to the river flat

The weather node on the cold spot is reading 2°C and dropping. You get the heads-up in time to act, not a surprise on the windscreen in the morning.

02:14 · the call you'd have missed

A gate just opened, off-hours

The east gate opened at 2:14am with no scheduled access. Your phone buzzes. Stock on the road becomes a text message you can act on, not a phone call from a neighbour at dawn.

Alerts, not surprises

One dashboard for the lot

Gates, troughs, pumps, tanks, soil, weather, fuel, every sensor on the place in a single live view, on the phone, tablet or computer.

Alerts the moment it matters

SMS, email or push when a gate opens off-hours, a pump drops pressure or a trough runs low. Sent to you, the manager, whoever needs to know.

A LoRa mesh for dead spots

Low-power radio relays readings kilometres back to a gateway with a connection, built for the back paddocks where mobile won't reach.

Every reading logged & kept

Not just today's number, the full history behind it. Catch a slow leak, see what's normal, and prove what happened and when.

Solar & maintained

Sensors run on solar and battery, sealed for the weather, and we look after them, so a flat node or a knock gets sorted before it leaves you blind.

Add sensors as you go

Start with the few that hurt most and grow the mesh. One more gate, a soil probe, a fuel tank, it all lands on the same dashboard.

This season against the last

Because every reading is kept, your dashboard doesn't just show today, it shows the trend. Line up frost nights, pump run-hours and trough drawdown year on year, and plan instead of react.

How it works

We map the property

Tell us what worries you, gates, water, pumps, stock, sheds. We work out what to monitor and how the mesh reaches each spot.

We install the mesh

We fit and seal the sensors, stand up the LoRa gateway, set your alert rules and set up your dashboard. Done properly, in one go.

You get the heads-up

Live readings and history on your phone, an alert the second something's off, and us on the other end if anything needs a look.

Backed by people who actually install this gear

Rural IoT is run by Alien IT Solutions, 18 years building networks, sensors and connectivity in places other installers won't drive to. We design, integrate, install and support the system; where a job needs licensed electrical or security work, we bring in the right licensed trade. Water-only job? We also run tankmonitoring.com.au for tanks, dams and bores.

Where this comes from

The primary sources behind the above, so you can check any of it yourself rather than take our word for it:

Questions people ask

Will it work where I've got no phone signal?

Yes, that's the whole point. Sensors talk to each other and back to a gateway over LoRa, a low-power radio that reaches well past mobile coverage. One gateway in the right spot can pull in readings from sensors kilometres away across the property.

What can you actually put a sensor on?

Gates (open/close and tamper), troughs and tanks, pump runtime and pressure, soil moisture, livestock and trough levels, feed bins, frost, rain and wind, fuel and battery, vehicle or person at the driveway, and more. They all report to the one dashboard.

How do the alerts reach me?

However suits you, SMS, email or app push, and to whoever needs them. A gate opening at 2am, a pump losing pressure, a trough running low: you hear about it early enough to do something, not the next morning.

How long do you keep the data?

Long-term. Every reading is logged and retained, so you can compare seasons, spot a slow problem and prove what happened, not just see the latest value.

Do you do the electrical and the install?

We design, integrate, install and support the sensor system and the network. Where a job involves licensed electrical or security work, wiring a pump starter, for instance, we bring in the right licensed trade. We're an IoT specialist, not an electrician, and we're straight with you about that.
